LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- A Hollywood film based on Stephano Raffaele's graphic novel "Fragile" is in the works, Variety.com reported Thursday.

"Curandero" director Eduardo Rodriguez has signed on to direct the story about what happens after an airborne virus has turned most of the planet's population into zombies.

"'Fragile' gives me the opportunity to explore the horror we're used to in the genre but set in a unique post-apocalyptic world where zombies aren't the monsters anymore," said Rodriguez.

Newcomer Jeff Dixon wrote the screenplay for the film, which will be made by Rogue Pictures.
