LONDON, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Tickets for an upcoming Spice Girls reunion concert in London have sold out less than a minute after they went on sale, the BBC reported Monday.

More than 1 million people in the United Kingdom registered for tickets to the concert, which is slated to take place on Dec. 15 at the O2 arena.

"It was a dramatic moment -- the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines," said Ticketmaster spokesman Chris Edmonds.

This tour marks the first time the popular 1990s girl group will perform on stage together since Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell quit in May 1998.

Two London dates -- Dec. 16 and 18 -- have been added to the tour and a fourth London concert on Jan. 2, 2008 is also listed on Ticketmaster's Web site.

Tickets for the additional dates are being sold to fans, who were alerted to the sales by text message and e-mail, the BBC said.

The band's world tour, which includes dates in New York, Las Vegas, Madrid, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sydney and Cape Town, kicks off in Vancouver on Dec. 2.
