Oprah, Seinfeld top TV's richest

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Even though Jerry Seinfeld stopped making his sit-com "Seinfeld" in 1998, he is still the second-highest earner in the U.S. television industry, E! News said.

Seinfeld banked $60 million from June 2006-July 2007 and made the Forbes' TV 20, a list of the top incomes of TV personalities.

While Seinfeld stopped making his classic sit-com years ago, viewers are still enjoying it in syndication and on DVD.

Topping the TV 20 register is Oprah Winfrey, who also appears on Forbes' list of the 400 richest Americans.

She pulled in $260 million from June 2006 through July 2007, thanks to her syndicated talk show, O magazine, her outing as a producer of Broadway's "The Color Purple" and Harpo Productions, which also has stakes in Rachael Ray's and Dr. Phil McGraw's talk shows.

"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, who also produces "America's Got Talent" and "American Inventor," came in third place this year with $45 million, while talk-show host

David Letterman comes in fourth with $40 million and "The Apprentice" boss Donald Trump rounds out the top five with $32 million.
