LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Hollywood actors Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas have signed on to star in the heist flick "The Code," Variety.com reported Monday.

Freeman will play a veteran thief who recruits a younger cohort (Banderas) to help him on one last job so he can pay back a debt to the Russian mob.

To be directed by "Pay it Forward" director Mimi Leder, the film is expected to start shooting next month in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Leder and Freeman worked together on the 1998 action movie "Deep Impact."

Television writer Ted Humphrey has written the script for "The Code," which is based on a story by Ruben Leder, the trade paper said.
