ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Walt Disney World's Epcot amusement park in central Florida celebrated its 25th birthday Monday.

Epcot follows Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Disneyland in California as the third most popular theme park in the United States.

The 25th anniversary festivities began with a re-dedication of the park and included special giveaways for visitors and the opening of a new exhibit chronicling the park's past and future.

Capping the celebration will be a spectacular fireworks show Monday evening, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported.
