NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The British pop group Duran Duran will pump up the launch of its newest album by performing a series of shows on Broadway this year.

Front man Simon LeBon said he and his fellow band mates are excited to celebrate their new album, "Red Carpet Massacre," with a limited run at New York's Barrymore Theater in November, Billboard reported Friday.

"We have made an album that we are all really proud of and we wanted to present it in a very unique way," LeBon said. "Staging a run on Broadway is something that we've often talked about over the years -- but the time has never seemed right until now."

The band's nine performances will run Nov. 1-10, with each show encompassing all of the band's "Red Carpet" offerings.

The album includes songs produced by other notable musicians, including singer Justin Timberlake and famed producer Timbaland.

Billboard said the album will be released by Epic Records Nov. 13.
