LOS ANGELES , Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor and filmmaker Robert Redford is attached to direct a screen adaptation of a book by former U.S. terrorism czar Richard A. Clarke.
"Against All Enemies," Clarke's best-selling memoir, is about how the Bush administration handled the al-Qaida threat before and after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
Published in March 2004 by Free Press, the book hit No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list.
"Crash" director Paul Haggis was originally expected to helm the movie and even supervised a draft by "Zodiac" scribe James Vanderbilt. However, Haggis decided to focus instead on "In the Valley of Elah," a military-themed film he wrote and directed, the trade paper said.
