LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A new Hollywood movie featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Aquaman and The Green Lantern reportedly is in the works.

Warner Bros. is planning a big-screen adaptation of DC Comics' "Justice League of America," an adventure that would bring many of the most beloved superheroes together under one title, Variety.com reported Friday.

"Happy Feet" director George Miller is expected to direct the film, which is now in the initial phases of casting.

The trade paper said the studio is very excited about the "Justice League" script it has, however, there has been some trouble in scheduling a start date due to overlapping superhero projects it already has planned.

Batman and Superman are active properties for the studio.

Several sources close to the "Justice League" project said Christian Bale, star of the latest "Batman" film franchise, and Brandon Routh, star of Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns," probably would not appear in the movie.

Although the studio has explored making "Justice League" as an animated or motion capture film, all indications are the movie will be a big-budget, live-action flick, Variety.com said.
