NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- "Sex and the City: The Movie" began shooting in New York Wednesday, reuniting the cast from the hit HBO comedy series.
Starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie, Kim Cattrall as Samantha, Kristin Davis as Charlotte and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2008, New Line Cinema said in a statement.
Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis have also signed on to reprise their roles as the women’s love interests.
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast and will play Carrie's assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film, New Line said.
The show’s long-time executive producer, Michael Patrick King, is directing the movie from a script he has written.
