NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- MySpace and MTV are set to kick off their series of presidential candidate dialogues designed to get young people to participate in the 2008 U.S. election.

The first chat, featuring former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., is slated to take place Sept. 27 on the University of New Hampshire campus.

Series moderators include MTV news correspondents Gideon Yago and SuChin Pak and Washington Post.com political reporter Chris Cillizza

Pollsters John McLaughlin and Geoffrey Garin are also expected to facilitate real-time user interaction via e-mail, MySpaceIM and MTV.com

"We're providing America's youth with unprecedented access to the top presidential candidates by empowering them to ask live questions and respond with real time polling tools," Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of MySpace, said in a statement.

Viewers on MySpace.com or MTV.com will be able to access a simple ratings meter to indicate their approval or disapproval of a candidate's responses as they watch live with instant results displayed on the screen.

Other candidates confirmed to participate in the series are Sam Brownback, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, Rudy Giuliani, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Barack Obama, Ron Paul, Bill Richardson and Mitt Romney.
