O'Donnell reports 'trouble' with Walters

NEW YORK, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Rosie O'Donnell's new book shows another side of her relationship with former "View" co-host and frequent supporter Barbara Walters, People.com said Tuesday.

In her memoir, "Celebrity Detox," slated to hit stores Oct. 2, O'Donnell discusses her stormy year as moderator of "The View," expressing some surprising views about the 77-year-old Walters.

"And Barbara. At some point, a person gets tired. It's inevitable," she reportedly wrote. "Barbara Walters is almost twice my age. At some point it becomes necessary to step back. Everyone has to go. Going is part of the gig."

O'Donnell also admitted she would be "less-than-honest" if she claimed there was "no trouble" between Walters and herself.

"I mean, our differences are obvious," she said.

Asked to comment on the book, Walters told "Extra:" "Rosie sent me the book with a note telling me how much she loved me. I have read the book -- and I would like to concentrate on the love that she sent."

O'Donnell's publicist, Cindi Berger, told the New York Post, "Rosie loves and adores Barbara and always will."

O'Donnell left "The View" before her contract was up last spring after a heated debate with conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
