Spears opens VMA show on MTV

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Fans said "Gimme More" Sunday as pop star Britney Spears opened the MTV Video Music Awards show in Las Vegas.

Spears was greeted with applause as she performed "Gimme More," the first single off her upcoming, as-yet-untitled album.

The 25-year-old divorced mother-of-two sported shoulder-length blonde hair and wore a glittery black bikini and calf-high black boots for the performance, which has been widely touted in the media as a comeback for the troubled singer.
