50 Cent is confident about his new album

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Rapper 50 Cent says he is confident his new album will outsell Kanye West’s album when they both drop in New York Sept. 11.

He said he is so certain his third album, "Curtis," will outsell West's "Graduation," that he will retire if it doesn’t, the New York Post reported Sunday.

The rapper already leads West in overall sales with 11 million to 6 million, and he also has a solid acting career with films slated for release in 2008, including "Righteous Kill" with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and "The Dance" with Nicolas Cage.

In a recent interview, 50 Cent was asked, “What did you think when you heard Kanye had moved the release of ‘Graduation’ to the same day as ‘Curtis’?”

“I think it's great for music. Plus, there's nothing better than competition,” answered the rapper. “We are good friends. We met up a few months back and listened to the tracks on each other's albums and gave our opinions. But just because we are friends doesn't mean I want him to beat me,” he added.
