Study: Alba has mathematically best wiggle
CAMBRIDGE, England, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Film star Jessica Alba has the sexiest wiggle of any female celebrity, based on mathematical computations, a study conducted by British math experts shows.
Employing math experts from Britain's Cambridge University, the study by the hair removal company Veet found Alba's strut is the closest to mathematically perfect than any other film actress, the Glasgow (Scotland) Record said Friday.
The experts found the "Fantastic Four" stunner a 70 percent ratio of waist to hips would represent the ideal conditions for a perfect strut.
In basic terms that would mean a woman would have to have a 25-inch waist and 36-inch hips.
The study said based on those figures, Alba has the precise measurements needed to pull off such an erotic sway.
The newspaper said runners-up for the unusual recognition were "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria, film star Angelina Jolie and late sex icon Marilyn Monroe.
Moore praises Italian healthcare system
ROME, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Controversial film director Michael Moore took time from opening his new film "Sicko" in Rome this week to praise Italy's healthcare system.
The Oscar-winning director, whose new film exposes apparent flaws in the U.S. healthcare industry, said at a news conference Friday that Italians should be pleased with the health services available to them, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
"Whether the government is right or left, you have a national health system which gives you the right to see a doctor. We don't have that right in the United States, and it's a disgrace," Moore said.
But Moore did take time during Friday's conference to criticize former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
The "Bowling for Columbine" director accused Berlusconi of attempting to emulate the United States while in office by limiting spending and nearly cutting welfare nationwide.
ANSA reported Moore's comments were followed by a screening of his film, which Italian Health Minister Livia Turco said was an important film about the human condition.
Salary dispute holding up 'Musical' sequel
Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A salary dispute between the stars of the U.S. film "High School Musical" and Walt Disney executives has put plans for another sequel on hold.
Life & Style reported Wednesday that while Disney executives want to make a third installment of the popular musical franchise, contract negotiations with many of its stars have completely stalled.
One insider said "Musical" star Zac Efron, who reportedly has been offered $2.75 million to reprise his leading role in a third film, has convinced his co-stars to hold out for more money.
"Zac’s telling the other actors to make sure they get what they deserve,” the insider alleged.
Other insider reports have said Efron co-stars have been offered $1 million deals to take part in the sequel.
The magazine said "High School Musical" has grossed $100 million and its sequel has met with record-breaking success since its release.
Release of 'Hitman' delayed several weeks
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The official U.S. release date of "Hitman," a film adapted from a video game, has been moved back several weeks to the Thanksgiving holiday week.
While an official announcement regarding the film's new release date has not taken place yet, IGNFilmForce said Friday the film will hit U.S. theaters Nov. 21 instead of Oct. 12.
The 20th Century Fox film stars actor Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, the hero of the popular Eidos video game.
The action film was directed by French director Xavier Gens and is based on a script from "Swordfish" writer Skip Woods.
