LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and actress Bridget Moynahan are the parents of a baby boy.

The baby was born Wednesday in a Los Angeles hospital, Moynahan's representative told E! News.

Moynahan, who starred last season in the short-lived ABC series "Six Degrees," announced her pregnancy in February, three months after the couple ended their three-year relationship.

Brady had told reporters days before the birth that he hoped to be present during delivery, but needed to clear his absence with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The 30-year-old football star wasn't on the field for practice Wednesday, but it was not immediately clear if he arrived in Los Angeles in time for the baby's arrival, E! News said.
