LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Actress Lindsay Lohan was charged Thursday with seven misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and using cocaine in two arrests in Los Angeles.
Although cocaine was discovered in Lohan's car in May and in her pocket when she was booked into the Santa Monica, Calif., jail in July, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said it decided against filing drug-possession charges because of the small amount found, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Lohan was arrested by Beverly Hills police during the Memorial Day weekend after she apparently lost control of her car and crashed on Sunset Boulevard.
She was arrested July 24 by Santa Monica police after the mother of one of Lohan's assistants reported being chased by the actress in an SUV.
In the Beverly Hills incident, the district attorney's office charged Lohan with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent and being under the influence of cocaine.
She was charged with identical counts in the Santa Monica case, with an additional count of misdemeanor reckless driving.
