Efron considering 'Footloose' re-do

NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Zac Efron says he is considering starring in a new film musical version of the 1984 Kevin Bacon flick, "Footloose."

Efron said "Footloose" was one of the projects that "just recently became very real" since he finished work on the hits, "High School Musical," "High School Musical 2" and "Hairspray."

"We can't just attempt to re-make Kevin Bacon's movie because it is too incredible. There's no way I could re-make that," the 19-year-old actor told UPI in New York recently. "But if we make it a full-blown musical and use some of the other that ideas we have, I think it could be really something great and original."
