Posh gets ready to spice up 'Ugly Betty'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Ultra-thin Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has been tapped to play a chubby bridesmaid on ABC's hit comedy, "Ugly Betty."

The wife of British-turned-U.S. soccer sensation David Beckham told the Daily Star she will portray herself on the small screen next season -- but in a fat suit.

"Everybody at the wedding will be expecting skinny, beautiful Posh to show up," an ABC spokesman told the newspaper. "But they’ll be horrified to see she’s piled on the pounds because of major comfort-eating and American junk food."

Beckham admitted acting is hardly her long suit but she noted it really won't be acting since,"I'll be playing myself."
