GARY, Ind., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- A Gary, Ind., woman has pleaded guilty to killing Johnny Jackson, who played drums for the iconic Jackson 5.

The 55-year-old drummer -- no relation to Michael, Tito, Jermaine, Randy, et al -- was stabbed in the chest in March 2006 and his girlfriend, Yolanda Davis, had been scheduled to go on trial for murder Monday.

However, Davis, 45, entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter instead and the trial was canceled, the Gary (Ind.) Post-Tribune reported Tuesday.

Court records said Davis had grabbed a steak knife while arguing with her boyfriend, and he was stabbed once in the chest when he reportedly lunged at her, the newspaper said.

Sentencing was set for Sept. 24, during which Davis will reportedly receive six years in jail with two served as well as four years probation.
