The couple, both 32, reportedly were married June 6, indicated a marriage license filed in Clark County, Nev., People magazine reported Wednesday. The nuptials were first reported on celebrity gossip site PerezHilton.com.

"Regarding the marriage, Mel and Stephen have know each other for many years and were great friends first. Now they are deeply in love. The two are very happy together," Brown's representative told People.

Brown, Scary Spice in the British girl group, is in a paternity matter with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy over their daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown. She recently filed suit asking that Murphy be legally acknowledged as the child's father and pay child support. Murphy last week acknowledged paternity of the child and said he has paid support.

The singer is to reunite with the Spice Girls in December on a world tour, the BBC said.
