LONDON, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- British rocker Pete Doherty has been told to clean up his act or face jail time for drug charges, Sky News reported Tuesday.
The Babyshambles singer/songwriter and erstwhile beau of model Kate Moss was arrested May 5 when police stopped his car on Kensington High Street in London.
Doherty has admitted driving while in possession of crack, heroin, ketamine and cannabis, but he also said he has had an implant in his stomach to help him kick his drug habit and offered to show it to the court, Sky News said.
"As far as I am concerned, I have either a custodial sentence or a community order in mind," District Judge Davinder Lachlar said. "Depending on what information I have when you next come to court, the decision will be made."
Doherty’s hearing at West London Magistrates' Court was adjourned for pre-sentence reports until Sept. 4.
Defense attorney Sean Curran said the performer has been on a detox program and "presents himself certainly looking a lot better" since his appearance last month.
