Nicholson denies he has handicapped son

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Jack Nicholson is slamming a new unauthorized biography that claims he has an illegitimate, handicapped son he keeps secret from the world.

In his upcoming book, "Five Easy Decades," author Dennis McDougal alleges the 70-year-old, Oscar-winning star of "As Good As It Gets" and "The Departed" has more children than he has publicly acknowledged.

McDougal writes by "most counts," Nicholson has one legitimate daughter and five other children from various relationships.

"There are two other possibles whom those closest to Jack whisper about, including one young man who lives with handicaps brought on by his actress mother's drug abuse ... These are among the closely held secrets he has generally succeeded in keeping from his fans," McDougal claims in his book, due out in stores this October.

But Nicholson's lawyer, Abe Somer, told PageSix.com: "The allegations of the handicapped son are false and inaccurate. There is no handicapped son of Mr. Nicholson."

Somer also said Nicholson has four, not five illegitimate children.
