LONDON, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- British officials have set a Tuesday deadline for Israel to either prosecute or turn over an Israeli army officer suspected in the killing of a filmmaker.
New evidence allegedly shows a shot fired by Capt. Hib al-Heib caused the death of British documentary maker James Miller, 34, four years ago, The Sunday Times reported.
The new evidence comes from an inquiry the Scotland Yard commissioned showing the bullet that killed Miller came from al-Heib's armored personnel carrier, the British newspaper said.
Israeli officials say while there is enough information to consider al-Heib a suspect, there is not enough evidence to find him guilty.
Miller was killed in the Gaza Strip while filming a documentary about children caught in the crossfire of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The killing was caught on video along with the sound of seven shots, which experts have used to prove came from al-Heib's armored vehicle.
The footage of Miller's death also has become a key part of the documentary "Death in Gaza," which was made by Saira Shah who was with the filmmaker when he died.
