ATLANTA, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- U.S. R&B/pop singer Usher and his pregnant fiancee, Tameka Foster, reportedly were married in a private ceremony in his attorney's Atlanta office.

The Chicago Sun-Times Saturday said the on-again, off-again wedding finally took place Friday despite published reports that Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, had strongly disapproved of the relationship.

Usher, whose true name is Usher Raymond IV, 28, has sold around 30 million albums worldwide. He has won five Grammy Awards and is a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers National Basketball Association franchise.

The newspaper said Patton showed up for the ceremony despite being the person responsible for an elaborate prenuptial agreement that sidelined a planned spring wedding.

The couple's baby is scheduled for delivery in the fall.
