LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Los Angeles police said Friday they believe at least two dogs fatally mauled a caretaker at the home of actor Ving Rhames.
Rhames was out of the country filming a movie.
Police investigators said they would not rule out other possible causes of death, including a heart attack or other medical condition, the Los Angeles Times reported. An autopsy will be performed.
The victim was not immediately identified, but Los Angeles Police Sgt. Lee Sands said the man was in his early 40s and had worked for Rhames for two years.
The victim's body, covered with bite wounds, was found lying in the front yard of Rhames' home. Police said they believed that the dogs belonged to the actor.
Animal control officers removed four dogs, including two bull mastiffs thought to have been responsible, police said.
