LONDON, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Less than two weeks after hitting the bookstores in Britain, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" copped an award nomination.

J.K. Rowling's seventh and final installment in the series is nominated in the Best Book category for the first Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards UK, to be presented in London in October, the Nottingham Post reported Wednesday.

It is nominated for the award alongside "Blood Beast" by Darren Shan, "Care and the Feeding of Sprites" by Holly Black, and "Jacky Daydream" by Jacqueline Wilson.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter in the movie series, also received a nod in the Best Movie Actor category, where he'll compete against Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Rowan Atkinson, the British newspaper said.

Howard Litton, managing director of Nickelodeon UK, said the network was proud to host a British Kids' Choice Awards. Nickelodeon also sponsors a Kids Choice Awards program in the United States.

"Our viewers deserve the biggest and best event in children's television, we're going to deliver a spectacular live event on stage and on TV," Litton said.
