Suit against 'The Love Sponge' can proceed

TAMPA, Fla., July 25 (UPI) -- An Internet porn star's lawsuit claiming shock jock Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem forced her to perform a sex act on air can proceed, a Florida judge ruled.

Florida Circuit Judge Marva Crenshaw ruled Wednesday that Hope Miller presented enough facts to support her claim so the lawsuit can continue, the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported.

Robert Santa Lucia, attorney for the satellite radio personality, said the lawsuit was an attempt by Miller, known on her Internet subscription site as Brooke Skye, to promote her Web site.

Miller's attorney, Steve Silton, said, "This case is about power and the abuse of power by an individual who puts himself in control."

Silton alleged that Clem gave Miller alcohol even though she was not 21 years old and told her he would get her to do something she didn't want to do, the newspaper said. When Miller objected, he threatened her, saying that her career would be ruined and that he would tell his listeners not to patronize her Web site.

Santa Lucia said Miller promotes her Web site by appearances such as the one on Clem's radio show.

Also named in the suit are the other participant, Melissa Harrington and Sirius Satellite Radio, the Tribune said.
