Quinto to split time between Sylar, Spock
HOLLYWOOD, July 24 (UPI) -- One bit of casting for Hollywood's latest "Star Trek" movie is completed -- television bad guy Zachary Quinto has been tapped to play Spock.

J.J. Abrams is producing and directing the new, unnamed "Star Trek" film. Abrams said the movie is slated for a December 2008 release.
In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, NBC Universal Television Studios President Katherine Pope said the studio would create shooting schedules so Quinto could work both acting opportunities.
