NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) -- Jeff Beck's manager says the guitarist will not be part of the reunion of the 1960s British blues-rock group The Yardbirds.

There had been a report that Beck would join other former Yardbirds Jimmy Page, Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty on tour this fall. But Beck's manager told Billboard.com that "there is no truth to any rumors" regarding Beck's role in the possible reunion.

Beck was a part of the Yardbirds with Page in 1966 before the band split up two years later. The original lead singer, Keith Relf, died in 1976 of electrocution, while Dreja and McCarty have toured under the name for 20 years.

The newest incarnation of the Yardbirds has tour dates booked through August.
