Randy Quaid to debut on Broadway

NEW YORK, July 20 (UPI) -- Academy Award nominee Randy Quaid will hit the boards on New York's Broadway when he debuts as the lead in the musical "Lone Star Love."

The revised version of the warmly received off-Broadway show will arrive on Broadway Nov. 1 with an official opening Dec. 3. It will have a limited engagement in Seattle before its Broadway bow.

Quaid is cast at Col. John Flagstaff. He will be joined by Tony nominees Robert Cuccioli as Frank Ford and Dee Hoty as Margaret Anne Page.

Randy Skinner will direct and choreograph "Lone Star Love," which is "inspired by Shakespeare's 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' transplanted to the Wild West shortly after the Civil War," Playbill reported Thursday.
