Silverman unveils revamped NBC line-up

LOS ANGELES, July 17 (UPI) -- Ben Silverman, in his first meeting with Hollywood media as NBC Entertainment chief, unveiled a new fall schedule and projects such as a Norman Lear dramedy.

Fall schedule shifts involve three nights, chief being Monday, with its fantasy-themed shows "Chuck," "Heroes" and "Journeyman," Variety reported Tuesday. The changes also affect line-ups for Tuesday and Friday.

Silverman also said:

-- Former "Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington, whose slur against gays created an uproar for several months, was joining the cast of "Bionic Woman" for at least five segments.

-- Norman Lear will produce a one-hour comedic drama about a mom who re-enters the work force and finds herself battling her late husband's ruthless partner.

-- The network is exploring the development of a new take on the 1980s franchise "American Gladiators" through his former Reveille shop. He did not discuss how the show may fit into NBC's brand, however, saying, "There's no deal done."

-- The reality format "Phenomenon," featuring A&E star Criss Angel and mentalist Uri Geller seeking a new star in the world of illusions and magic, has been purchased.
