Will Smith nervous about daughter dating
MIAMI, July 12 (UPI) -- Actor Andy Garcia will play the congas during a Sunday jam session in Miami with Cuban expatriate and jazzman Arturo Sandoval.
Garcia, a supporter of Cuban music, was executive producer and star of HBO's 2000 biopic about the trumpet-playing Sandoval, the Miami Herald reported Thursday. In addition, he helped with bass player Cachao's comeback in the early 1990s and produced a number of his albums.
The "Ocean's Thirteen" star plays piano and congas and has sat in on a number of recording sessions.
Demand for tickets to Sunday's jam session forced it to move from the Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club at the Deauville Beach Resort to the hotel's larger Le Jardin room.
