LONDON, July 11 (UPI) -- A BBC documentary on Britain's royal family catches Queen Elizabeth II chiding celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for asking her to remove her crown.
"A Year with the Queen" -- filmed as Elizabeth prepared for her 80th birthday and her recent visit to the United States -- captures the working life of the family, with snippets showing the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and Princes William and Harry on duty, The Telegraph reported Wednesday.
One of the more unusual snippets occurred at Buckingham Palace, as the queen posed for Leibovitz, best known for her work for Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair magazines. Leibovitz remarked the shot would "look better without the crown," drawing a stare from the queen before she walked out of the session.
Queen Elizabeth II said to her lady-in-waiting, "I'm not changing anything. I've had enough dressing like this thank you very much."
Leibovitz eventually released four official portraits of the queen.
BBC1 controller Peter Fincham said the behind-the-scenes documentary contains "a lot of intimate moments and familiar moments."
He described the Leibovitz footage as "a very memorable little sequence."
