LOS ANGELES, July 5 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Nick Lachey says he isn't ashamed of sexy photos of him and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, but that doesn't mean he wants them published.
A lawyer for Jessica Simpson's former husband has warned media outlets not to print or post pictures illegally snapped of Lachey having sex with Minnillo in a hot tub in a supposedly private villa in Mexico, the World Entertainment News Network reported Thursday.
However, in an interview with OK! magazine, the performer seems to downplay the incident, insisting he and the MTV personality were not the ones who did something wrong.
"Where's the scandal?" he wondered. "I was in Mexico with my girlfriend of a year, celebrating our anniversary on a private vacation. It's not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. ... This is the girl that I love. It's tough to see someone you care about be unfairly judged. It's hard for me as a man to see my girl go through that."
"It was embarrassing," Minnillo added. "But we did nothing wrong. I felt personally violated."
Lachey's lawyer has threatened legal action against media outlets who publish the photos.
