NEW YORK, July 2 (UPI) -- The wife of "Mindfreak" illusionist Criss Angel accused her husband of mental cruelty, abandonment and adultery, papers filed in a New York court showed.
During a court hearing in New York last week, an attorney for Angel's estranged wife, Joanne Sarantakos, said he planned to subpoena actress Cameron Diaz, E! News reported Monday.
"We're naming Cameron Diaz as his lover," attorney Dominic Barbara said during a Nassau County Court hearing. "We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York."
The two were first together in Las Vegas in May, and have been photographed many times together since, E! News said.
Angel, whose real name is Christopher Sarantakos, and his wife have been married for five years. She accused the Goth illusionist of abandoning her emotionally and financially when he became famous. His magic show debuted on A&E cable network in 2005 and has become one of its top-rated programs.
Angel's lawyer denied the accusations, saying they were unfounded, E! News said.
"The notion that she's not being supported is simply not accurate," Elliott Wiener said in court.
