TAMPA, Fla., July 2 (UPI) -- Former "American Idol" contestant Jessica Sierra pleaded innocent Monday to felony battery for allegedly throwing a glass at a patron in a Tampa, Fla., bar.

A trial is scheduled for Oct. 15. The Tampa singer, 21, allegedly tossed the cocktail glass at a patron's head at the Hyde Park Cafe in April, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported.

"We ultimately hope that we're going to able to resolve this case favorably for Jessica," Sierra's attorney, Jon Fitzgibbons, told the court..

Sierra, accompanied by Fitzgibbons and another woman, did not talk to reporters. She thanked her fans for their support.
