Criss Angel's wife files for divorce

NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- Magician Criss Angel's "secret" New York wife has accused the "Mindfreak" actor of having an affair with Cameron Diaz.

Joanne Sarantakos claims the marriage broke down once he became famous and slept with Diaz, the New York Post reported Saturday.

Angel's last name was originally Sarantakos, but he changed it after moving to Las Vegas and hitting it big with his TV show "Mindfreak."

Celebrity lawyer Dominic Barbara, who is representing Angel's wife, said he now has to subpoena Diaz and have her testify about her contact with Angel to support a divorce suit on the grounds of mental cruelty and abandonment.

Angel kept his wife of five years "as a secret" to increase his sex appeal to female fans, Barbara said.

"We're naming Cameron Diaz as his lover," Barbara told the court. "We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York."

Barbara also said Angel refused to give his wife any money, although he made $7 million last year and signed a $200 million contract with a Vegas casino.

"He's not paying her support, which is tragic -- considering his worth," said Barbara.
