MARNE-LA-VALLEE, France, June 26 (UPI) -- French police are investigating why a 14-year-old Spanish girl died after riding a roller coaster at Disneyland Paris, the BBC reported Tuesday.

The teen's friends noticed she was unconscious when the RockNRoller Coaster ride came to a stop.

Attempts by park personnel to revive her were unsuccessful and the girl died before an ambulance could get to her at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Marne-la-Vallee.

The ride is closed while police investigate, but a preliminary inspection showed no obvious problem with the machinery.
