Mel B says tests show Murphy is baby's dad

LOS ANGELES, June 22 (UPI) -- Actor Eddie Murphy's DNA test proves he is the father of former "Scary Spice" Melanie Brown's daughter, born two months ago in Los Angeles, it was reported.

Brown received the results of the test Thursday, her representative Liza Anderson told People magazine Friday.

A source close to Brown said: "He's the baby's father; it's official."

Brown, 32 -- who gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown April 3 -- has contended Murphy is the child's father.

She and the comic dated last summer.

Murphy reportedly said in December on a Dutch television show: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."
