Pittsburgh Pirates spoof 'Sopranos' finale

PITTSBURGH, June 20 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates' version of "The Sopranos" finale has became an Internet sensation after being shown before a game June 15.

In the spoof -- filmed at Ritter's Diner in Oakland, Pa., last Wednesday -- a mascot Parrot meets with Capt. Jolly Roger at a booth, just like Tony and Carmela Soprano did in the show's series finale. They are joined by Oliver Onion pierogie, sitting in for AJ Soprano, and The Jalapeno Hannah pierogie is shown having a hard time parallel parking, like Meadow Soprano in the episode, The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Wednesday.

After being shown at the game, the short was posted on YouTube.com, where it already has thousands of views, and on MSNBC.

"It's a big hit, we were all over the news," said Ritter's co-owner Art Velisaris.

He said everyone who comes in has been asking about it.

Eric Wolff, the Pirates' director of game entertainment, said he came up with the idea for the short after watching "The Sopranos" finale.
