Bob Barker bows out with Emmy win

LOS ANGELES, June 16 (UPI) -- U.S. television icon Bob Barker bowed out in style by winning his 19th Daytime Emmy Award in the Best Game Show category in Los Angeles.

Barker, 83, is retiring after 35 years as host of "The Price is Right" and was given a standing ovation by the crowd Friday night and joked the judges "had sympathy for an old man who doesn't have a job."

Barker's award was one of 16 Daytime Emmys won by CBS this year, E! Online reported.

Other winners included "Guiding Light" and "The Young and the Restless," which tied for best daytime drama; "Good Morning, America" and the "Today Show" tied for best morning programming, and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" captured best talk show.

The judges snubbed "The View" despite the high-profile performances of Rosie O'Donnell and the rest of the cast.
