"We are aware that he is in the custody of the FBI, I can't comment beyond that," said Steve Cole, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tampa.

Pearlman, who managed both the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync, is under criminal investigation in Florida after being linked to alleged securities and bank fraud.

He will appear before a federal judge in Guam before being flown back to the United States.

Since he left many of his companies have been put through involuntary bankruptcy and there is also a federal criminal investigation and another bankruptcy involving his former downtown property holding company under way.
