BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 13 (UPI) -- Film star Eddie Murphy took a paternity test this week in Beverly Hills, Calif., to determine if he is the father of Spice Girl Mel B's 2-month-old baby.

Sources said the "Norbit" actor recently went to a medical facility in Beverly Hills to undergo the test that will determine the accuracy of Mel B's allegation that he is her daughter's father, People magazine said Wednesday.

The former Spice Girl also was in attendance at the facility Monday, bringing her daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown with her as part of the paternity testing.

While Murphy has confirmed he once dated Mel B, whose full name is Melanie Janine Brown, the actor was hesitant last December to confirm he was likely the child's father.

"I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test," the actor said.

Brown countered by alleging the "Beverly Hills Cop" star had not been in contact since the baby's birth and previously had refused to undergo paternity testing.

People reported the results of Monday's paternity test could take as long as three weeks to be determined.
