Depp, 'Pirates' cop MTV golden popcorns

LOS ANGELES, June 4 (UPI) -- Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" made off with popcorn prizes in the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles.

During the bleeped, live awards ceremony hosted by comic Sarah Silverman, MTV saluted movies, breakthrough performances, best kiss and best fight on the big screen.

Other winners posted on MTV's Web site were:

-- Best Villain: Jack Nicholson, "The Departed."

-- Breakthrough Performance: Jaden Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness."

-- Best Comedic Performance: Sacha Baron Cohen, "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."

-- Best Kiss: Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen, "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."

-- Best Fight: Gerard Butler versus the Uber Immortal, "300."

-- Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet: "Transformers."

The 2007 MTV Movie Awards were selected by fan voting.
