Will Smith nervous about daughter dating
GAINESVILLE, Fla., May 29 (UPI) -- Rock 'n' roll icon Bo Diddley, who suffered a stroke earlier this month, has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility near his Florida home.
Diddley was hospitalized in Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha since May 13 when he suffered a stroke while touring, E! News reported. He was released Thursday.
Diddley has begun speech and occupational therapy at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, publicist Susan Clary said in a statement Tuesday. He is expected to remain at the facility for two weeks, then will continue therapy on an out-patient basis.
Considered a founder of rock 'n' roll, Diddley's beat drove such classics as "Bo Diddley," "Say Man" and "Who Do You Love?" and influenced generations of rock artists, including Buddy Holly, the Rolling Stones, U2 and The Clash. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
