LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- Actress Mischa Barton was hospitalized in Los Angeles Sunday evening after apparently suffering a negative reaction to medication.

The celebrity news Web site TMZ reported Barton, 21, was rushed to a medical facility from a Memorial Day barbecue, where she had "a few holiday cocktails" -- which apparently did not mix with antibiotics she had been taking.

The "OC" star had been sick with bronchitis after traveling to London, Paris and Cannes, France, in recent weeks.

TMZ said Barton was resting comfortably at the medical facility, and a publicist for the actress said she was with family members and "feeling much better."
