CHICAGO, May 22 (UPI) -- Police in Chicago searched for a couple who stole a Rembrandt etching from a gallery in a bold daytime heist during the weekend.

The man and the woman lifted "Adam and Eve," a 350-year-old etching by the Dutch master valued at $60,000, from Hilligoss Gallery on Michigan Avenue, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday. The theft occurred Sunday afternoon.

"Our staff saw the people come in and greeted them, only to be sort of ignored with a steely stare by the guy," owner Tom Hilligoss told the newspaper.

The couple was "in and out in less than 3 minutes," Hilligoss said. The man was described as looking like Chicago Bears ex-coach Mike Ditka, only shorter; the woman was described as a blonde in her 40s.

Detectives were reviewing mall security video for images of the pair, a police spokeswoman said.

The Rembrandt was part of an estate of the late parents of a friend of Hilligoss, who has been trying to sell it for about a year.

"It is a significant piece of significant quality," he said in the Sun-Times article. "It's not really hard to find a home for it. That's why I am making noise."
