LONDON, May 20 (UPI) -- Despite a disagreeing public, Prince Charles wants Camilla to become Britain's queen when he steps up as king, a report said Sunday.

The relationship between Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was originally adulterous, which is why many say Camilla should never become queen.

The Sunday Telegraph reported in 2005, only 7 percent of the public thought Camilla should be queen.

But Prince Charles is reportedly determined to make Camilla queen, and is working to gain public support so both can be crowned at the time of his coronation.

If Camilla is not made queen, she will be referred to as the princess consort.
