Prince's girlfriend to cut short trip

LONDON, May 18 (UPI) -- Prince Harry, told he can't be with his men in Iraq and to cut down the partying in London, got some good news: his girlfriend will spend the summer with him.

Chelsy Davy, 21, has canceled a portion of her global trip to spend the next few months with the prince, the Sun reported Friday. She had been scheduled to fly from London to Mexico before the end of May.

Prince Harry was told earlier this week he would not go to Iraq with his men because of specific threats made against him provided an "unacceptable risk" to him and his men. He also was asked to curtail his penchant for carousing while his squadron was stationed in Iraq.

British military officials also indicated they would ask Prince Harry to transfer to ceremonial duties guarding his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, with the Household Mounted Regiment.

A friend of the prince said Davy "is relieved Harry is not going to Iraq, but can obviously understand his deep disappointment."
