Prince Harry told to curb carousing

LONDON, May 18 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince Harry, already forbidden from joining his men in Iraq, has been advised to abstain from frequenting London nightclubs.

During a pep talk Thursday, military leaders advised the prince to refrain from partying in London while soldiers of his Blues and Royal squadron were fighting in Iraq, the Sun reported Friday.

Harry was told Wednesday he would not be going to Iraq, five days before he to fly to Basra. Army chief Richard Dannatt said specific threats on the prince's life made his deployment an "unacceptable risk" to the royal and the men around him.

A source from his squad said, "We have no right to put Harry under a curfew or to stop him going out for a drink. But he has been told the public would find it unacceptable to see pictures of him drunk outside nightclubs during the six months his men are away fighting.

"He has been given a pep talk and totally accepts how he has to behave and exactly why," the source told the British paper.
